Hey all - I'm making a website that should hopefully help with job seeking and obtaining after my degree and/or provide a small amount of revenue for me while I study. It will be ancient history focused and will have three parts - one where I blog about my history work on a day to day/ week to week basis - teaching, museum work etc. The second part is where I'm offering small amounts of Latin translation or checkthroughs, so if someone is getting a tattoo they won't get the passive where they want the subjunctive, or the Latin version of 'noodle soup' a la a lot of the Chinese tattoos one sees floating around these days. This service will extend to club mottos as well, those sorts of things, for a small fee. The final part will be as a historical consulting service - so if someone wants to check their resources for writing a book/play/film they can shoot me an email to make sure they are writing an accurate portrayal of antiquity.

The only thing I'm not sure about is the name of the site, which is where I'd like your advice! I'm considering ConsultingHistorian.co.uk but it doesn't feel quite right to me, so any suggestions would be fantastic.

Thank you, and hope you are all doing well.

This sounds fantastic! The only idea for a name I can come up with is CaraTheConsultant.co.uk (.com?) but that's a little tacky... it sounds like a psychic/medium service.

The only thing I'd be worried about with that name would be that it doesn't incorporate the history aspect which is the big theme of it, also sounds a little like an accounting firm and I wouldn't want anyone emailing me about their taxes >.> Thank you for the idea though :)

Wow, that's even worse!

"Thank you for contacting CaraTheConsultant.com. I regret to inform you that I am not a tax auditor, so I won't be able to help you with your multiple offshore accounts. However, if you suddenly find that your grandfather wrote his will in Latin and you need a translation, I'm your girl!"
