Hello firefly/ffxii parallels

 So I've recently finished watching firefly, and whilst running through my morning routine I thought: Hmm. Parallels? I think this may have been done before but this look fun.... character analysis/similarity thing.

Captain Mal: Balthier. Dur. Two kick ass sky pirate captains (well, Balthier isn't an actual captain...) who own a rare/outdated sky ship - brand firefly, named Serenity & the Strahl. Both fought in a war or rather were part of a large military operation, and have a gun as their main weapon. Like to pretend they are selfish but have a conscience, most times. Especially when toting a rag-tag bunch of quirky individuals around. Both have an awesome fondness for billowy shirts.

Zoe: Fran. Take charge women who have known their captains since before the main storyline happened, as partners. Good with weapons and quite stoic in their demeanour. ( I would have had Fran as Inara just for their slinkiness, but I doubt Fran would suit as a courtesan)

Simon and River: Basch and Ashe. XD. Come on, you have to agree with me: stoic leader type taking care of batshit crazy girl at the cost of his own personal gain; will not leave her to be looked after by anyone ever. Because she is his crazy girl. Not yours. Grr. Slightly self destructive relationship on his part, but does it for love/duty/the greater good. ... actually you could probably easily interchange Noah with Ashe here... hmm.

Kaylee: Penelo - I suppose you could go for Vaa as well, but happy cheery and totally crushing on Basch/Simon engine    engine-rat Penelo sounds awesome to me. Cemented by the Firefly dialouge:
Kaylee: Look at that dress? All those ruffles, I'd love to wear something like that.
Mal: You? Where would you wear it? You in a dress would be like a dog walking on it's hind legs.
Kaylee: *Glares.*
Zoe: *Glares*
Mal: ...What?

I can all too well imagine a Fran/Balthier/Penelo conversation like that. Ah.

Further character analysis will be dran later. After I study more and do not dare contemplate writing a FFXII/Firefly drabble at all.
